Now that warm weather has returned, start watering once or twice a week as the temperature indicates. To avoid unnecessary water loss, time each section until water run-off occurs, then set timer for 2 to 3 minutes less for that section. If the section needs more water try running your controller on two water cycles and hour or so apart. That will allow the first watering to soak in before the second watering begins. Be aware of each section's watering requirements (grass, flowers, etc.). During weeks when the temperature is cool, water once a week (if no rain). If there is danger of a late season freeze, water before temperatures dip to protect tender plants. If the weather turns unseasonally hot, be aware of your landscape's requirements. You may need to water the beds more frequently than grass or shady ground cover areas. Be involved with your system. Don't assume that it knows automatically what to do.

Turn on your system periodically when you can watch it function. This will alert you to stopped up, broken or misaligned heads which can be repaired and/or adjusted before water is wasted and the plants show stress. See
