Emergency Procedures

| If you have a section that will not shut off, or a mainline break, you will need to know how to turn off the water at the sprinkler master valve. Most boxes are rectangular or oval and any wheel in the box sticking straight up will shut off the water. Simply raise the lid (a screwdriver might come in handy) and turn the wheel to the right (clockwise). If your master valve has a lever rather than a wheel, the lever goes with the flow of water (lengthwise along the line for on, crosswise to the line for off). If you need help, call. If no one is in the office, be sure to tell the answering service that you have a section that will not turn off and they will page Bill or me. If we are not in town, we try to have a backup to answer emergencies. To be on the safe side, set your controller to water during the week. We rarely leave town during the summer, but occasionally we might not be here to help you. |
